Bode Hammond’s 4th Grade Review Of Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo

Do you like tigers?  If you do, then I have a book for you.  It is called “Tiger Rising”.

I chose to read this book because I loved “Because of Winn Dixie.”  It surprised me that I liked Tiger Rising even more!

In Tiger Rising there is a boy named Rob who does not have a lot of friends.  To make things worse his mom died.  He and his dad don’t like to talk about her.  One day Rob ventures out of the Kentucky Star Motel to go for a walk in the woods.  After a few minutes of walking he stops, awe struck, because standing in front of him is a tiger pacing in his cage.  The next day while Rob is on the bus a strange girl climbs up on the bus.  Her name is Sistine.  Rob knows she is the one he is going to tell about the tiger.

My favorite part is when Rob is given permission to feed the tiger.  Rob is pretty nervous and I think I would be too.  I loved watching the friendship grow between Rob and Sistine.

Will they let the tiger go?  If you want to know all that happens at the end I highly recommend you read this book.  The End.
