CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is holding a five-week course on emergency

preparedness on five consecutive Thursday nights April 26-May 24 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Lehi Fire station 82 (250 W 2600 N). The cost of the program is $35 for Lehi residents.

CERT training is emergency response training from individuals who help neighbors alleviate disasters during the first 72 hours of an event when access to emergency response teams might be unavailable. “CERT class is a great place to get training. The course covers basic training in first aid, small fire suppression, light rescue and how to work as a team. With the natural disasters the world is currently experiencing, it is good for residents to know how to take care of themselves, their neighbors, and their communities. The more you know, the more you will be prepared. I encourage you to sign up for the class and get this important training,” said Sue Ann Lindsey, Cert member and instructor.

The course is a combination of online and classroom instruction. The online part of the course (IS-317) should be completed before the class and can be found at the following link:

The $35 course fee covers the CERT equipment: hard hat, vest, ball-cap, t-shirt, safety glasses, work gloves, medical gloves, dust mask, course manual, and CERT ID completion card. To sign up, visit www.lehicert.org/training/signup.
