Jacob Sterling Broadbent, age 18, our loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend returned to his Heavenly Father after a tragic car accident on September 27, 2017. Jacob was born on May 15, 1999 in Orem, Utah. Jacob currently lived in Lehi, Utah. He recently graduated from Liahona High School in Pleasant Grove.

Jacob was truly a light in everyone’s life. He always had a smile on his face and could make everyone laugh and was always making some annoying comment. He was up for an adventure and was always willing to go anywhere and try anything. He truly lived life to the fullest.

Jacob loved to hang with his cousins who were his best friends, go dirt bike riding with his uncles or just simply be with the family. He was such a smart young man and a hard worker from a very young age, whether it was helping at frog shows, with donuts or learning a new trade in the diesel world with his grandpa and uncles, he loved it all. Jacob was truly talented in everything he tried. He was hoping to become an electrician.

Jacob was a great friend and people were attracted to him. Everywhere he went he made friends. If you needed anything, he was the first one to call and was the first one to help. You could always count on Jacob to be there. He loved his car he named “Chill Bill” and hauled everyone and everything including his dirt bike in the back.

Jacob put a lot aside to be by his mom’s side and help her any chance he got. He had a very special bond with his mom that will never be broken. Jacob was her sidekick. Jacob truly was a great blessing to all who knew him and will forever be missed until we meet again.

Jacob is survived by his mother, Stephanie Schmidt Broadbent (Greg) Smith, Sister Mikell Schmidt (Justin Couron), Brother Samuel Broadbent.
