Caitlin Thomas was the recipient of two scholarship awards at the Miss Utah pageant last week. Caitlin won the Sadie Huish Memorial scholarship. Annually, one contestant is chosen to obtain the Sadie Huish Memorial Award which is given in honor of Sadie Huish, a Miss Utah Little Miss who passed away in 2009 after a sixteen-month battle with cancer. Huish’s family chooses the contestant to win the award, and this year, Miss Lehi, Caitlin Thomas, was chosen for her exemplary service and platform. Thomas’s platform is, “CHOOSE TO LIVE: Suicide Awareness and Prevention.” The final night of the pageant Thomas also received a $1,000 scholarship for winning the Miss America Community Service Award. Miss Lehi, Caitlin Thomas and Little Miss Lehi, Addison Austill represented Lehi City well at the pageant.
